A very successful Championships was held in St Catharines ON Friday July 17th and Saturday July 18th. There were 18 Meet Records broken!
Kate Cochrane-Brink ON broke the W45 CAN record with a 1:14.18 in the 400m Hurdles
M85 Bill Thompson broke the 21 year old CAN in the 100m with a 18.05 finish
New to the age group, Gaby Szanto ON broke the W50 CAN in the Pole Vault at 2.40m and the Shot Put at 11.18m
W70 Carol LaFayette-Boyd SK tied her own CAN of 1.25 in the High Jump
M80 Emil Muller ON threw the Hammer 40.41m breaking the CAN by 6 metres (photo from a different meet)
W60 Kris Kozell ON broke the CAN with a 7:56.48 in the 1500m Racewalk

Throwers Club President Bill Pearson presented the Ian Hume Award for Combined Events to Marie-Josée Le Jour ON Marie-Josée will be competing in the PanAm Games next week
Earl Fee presents the Earl Fee Award for Track Events to Karla Del Grande ON
The Olga Kotelko Award for Field Events went to the late Olga Kotelko
Accepting the award was Olga’s daughter Lynda Rabson – who made a very touching acceptance speech
Ed was on hand to present the Ed Whitlock Award for Non-Stadia Events
Recipient Mark Bennett was unable to attend. CMA Director Bill McIlwaine (R) donates the plaques every year.
Mark received his plaque from BC Provincial Director Jake Madderom at a race out west on Saturday
