Olympian Eric Gillis, formerly from Antigonish, NS and now making Guelph ON his home, finished as first Canadian in the race and set a Canadian M35 age group record, finishing in 30:09. Once ratified, this will remove from the books Bob Moore’s 30:15 record, set in 1980.
The top masters woman finisher in the race was W45 Catherine Watkins from Vancouver, with a time of 36:32. Pending ratification, the only woman setting an age group record in the race was W90 Jean Brockbank from Kanata, ON, whose time of 2:09:14 provided the first record in that age group.
