Canadian Masters Athlete of the Month – April

There were three winners of CMA Athlete of the Month in April, all of whom had world-class performances at major events.

Krista Duchene (W41) came in third place overall at this year’s Boston Marathon battling strong headwinds and icy rain for nearly the entire 42.2km. Her time of 2:44:20 was extremely good considering the weather conditions.

Two masters athletes had fifth place finishes at the Commonwealth Games in Australia.

Angela Whyte smashed the W35 Canadian record in the heptathlon with 6223 points and also became the first CMA woman to jump over 6m in the process with a leap of 6.07m.

Natasha Wodak set a new W35 Canadian record in the 10,000m with a blistering time of 31:50.18. Natasha’s age-graded performance of over 95% was the highest of the three AOTM winners.
