There are co-winners of the CMA Athlete of the Month Award for August,
Christa Bortignon – Ted Rowan
Both of these combined events athletes broke world records in the pentathlon at the CMA Championships held from Aug. 3-5 in Surrey, BC. Christa scored an amazing 4838 points in the W80 category. Christa’s 80m hurdles time of 20.12s was also a Canadian record.
Ted scored 3636 in the M85 division. Additionally, Ted set a Canadian record in each of the running, jumping and throwing event groups with 17.48s in the 100m, 1.62m in the pole vault, and 22.94m in the javelin.
