This month, two athletes have been selected from a large number of excellent performances to share Athlete of the Month honors.
Lucy Smith broke the Canadian W50 5000m record in Victoria on June 14 in a time of 17:39.66. One week later, she broke it again with a time of 17:32.97. This was a fantastic, 95% age-graded performance.
Reidar Zapf-Gilje set a new Canadian M65 record as well as a championship record in the pentathlon which took place in Aalgaard, Norway on June 17. He scored more than 700 points in each of the five events and finished with a world-class score of 3812 points.
