The CMA has selected co-winners of Athlete of the Month honours for March.
Both Karla Del Grande and Earl Fee broke two masters world records.
Karla represented Canada at the World Masters Athletics Indoor Championships in Torun, Poland, and won gold in the 200m and 400m sprints. Her world record times were 29.73s and 1:08.39.
Earl entered a track meet in Grinnell, Iowa, one day after his 90th birthday and destroyed the previous world records in the 400m and the 800m. His times of 1:30.76 and 3:42.52 broke the previous records by 16 and 33 seconds, respectively. The age-graded percentage for Earl’s 400m time is 109.07%.
The CMA would also like to mention Carol LaFayette-Boyd and Christa Bortignon.
Carol set a new W75 world record of 32.26s in the 200m at the Butterdome in Edmonton.
Christa tied her own W80 world record in the long jump at the WMA Indoor Championships in Torun.
