Canadian Masters Athlete of the Month – November 2022

The AOTM designation has been awarded to three CMA athletes for November 2022. Congratulations to Dmitry Babenko, Jean-Pierre Poulin, and Susan Stone!

Dmitry Babenko (M45) won the USATF-NJ 15k Race Walk Championship in Whiting, NJ, on November 13. Dmitry’s time of 1:12:22 set a new Canadian record, besting the old record by over six minutes.

Jean-Pierre Poulin (M50) had the top master’s age-graded performance (85.20%) at the Canadian National Cross-Country Championships in Ottawa, ON. Jean-Pierre completed the 8k course in a time of 28:13. He is an unattached competitor from Mont St-Hilaire, QC.

Susan Stone (W60) secured the top master’s age-grading spot for women. She raced the 8k Canadian National Cross-Country Championships in a time of 37:01 to earn an age-graded performance of 83.40%. Susan lives in Uxbridge, ON, and competes for the Longboat Roadrunners.
