For September, the Canadian Masters Athletics Athlete of the Month is Kris Kozell.
Kris was a quadruple gold medalist at the World Masters Athletics Championships at Malaga, Spain, in a competitive age bracket. She won the W65 5000m racewalk in a time of 30:19.09 and the 10k racewalk in 1:00:42, both Canadian records. Kris also won the 20k racewalk, in a time of 2:11:55. Her fourth gold came as part of the Canadian Team 10k racewalk.
An honourable mention goes to Myrtle Acton who broke four Canadian records in the W85 throwing events at the British Columbia 55+ Games in Cranbrook. Myrtle threw the discus 16.32m, the shot put 6.34m, the hammer 20.39m, and the weight 8.30m.
