Canadian Masters Athlete of the Month – September

The Canadian Masters Athlete of the Month for September is Myrtle Acton BC.

Myrtle set four new CMA records at the BC 55+ Games in Kelowna. She threw the Discus 17.23m, the Hammer 21.04m, the Weight 8.91m and won the W85 Throws Pentathlon with 4279 points. Some of Myrtle’s throws had extremely high age-gradings and world rankings. Her Weight Throw and Throws Pentathlon performances were the best in the world this year in her age group.

Honourable mentions were earned by two W40 marathon runners.
Lyndsay Tessier ON ran the marathon in the heat of Doha at the IAAF World Championships and finished an incredible 9th.
At the Berlin Marathon, Krista Duchesne ON finished first among all female masters runners in 2:32:27, less than two minutes behind Lyndsay’s CMA W40 best of 2:30.47
