Christa Bortignon Sets World Records in Torino

W75 Christa Bortignon BC (R) ran a 34.23 in the 200m while competing in the Heptathlon yesterday at the World Masters Games in Torino Italy. The old WR was 34.40 held by Paula Schneiderhan GER – set at the World Championships in Durban in 1997.

Christa’s 6519 points in the Heptathlon blew away the World Record of 5416 pts held by Christel Donley USA. The temperature during the 800m, the last event, hit 36c.
