Canadian Masters Athletics is announcing its first ever Canadian Masters Road Race Walk Championship, which will be held at 12:00 pm on Sunday, September 12, 2021, in conjunction with the Demi-Marathon de Blainville, in Blainville, Quebec.

The 5K Road Race Walk competition will take place on a certified 1K loop course on Céloron Boulevard in this city North of Laval, Quebec, as part of a full program of events for the day.  The program consists of Half Marathon, 10K and 5K runs, a 5K walk, and 3K and 5K judged race walks, with the 5K race walk serving as the CMA Masters Championship.  The organizer of the events, the Corsaire-Chaparral Athletics Club, is familiar to the CMA, as they organized the CMA’s very successful Outdoor Track and Field Championship in 2019 in nearby Ste-Thérèse.

With the cooperation of the Ontario Racewalkers, this first National Road Race Walk Championship is expected to attract racewalkers from Ontario and Quebec, but athletes from anywhere in the country are welcomed.  It is hoped that this inaugural event will lead to future National Road Race Walking competitions in additional longer distances.

The deadline for registration for this event is September 9, 2021.
