Alberta       17                21                13                106

Ontario       4                 13                12                50

We got KILLED !!!! These fantastic Alberta athletes were cleaning up everywhere you looked!

The Dargies, Andre Francois, Noella Lee Pong, Loretta Amerongen, the Racewalkers, Helly, Roger, Donna……the list seemed endless.

The loudmouth Ontario President, who came up with the challenge, will have to pay a severe penalty. The Albertans are planning an appropriate humiliation. Stay tuned!

Harvey Boles daughter Pam writes……

My dad has had open heart surgery. He had his aorta replaced and 1 bypass as a result of a heart murmur and rheumatic fever as a child. The surgery was done 3 weeks ago this Friday at Hamilton General. Due to some odd complications he is still in ICU. The surgery was a great success, 2 days after he was slow and somewhat delirious from the anesthetic or drugs coming out of the surgery(This lasted 1 week)they also say he has a minor stroke but no lasting affects.

[simage=39,288,n,left,]

He was finally gaining ground when he got pneumonia and broke the wires that held his sternum together(coughing), surgery to repair this was done last Thursday and again 2 days later suffered from delirium. It is now Wed. and he is doing great. hopefully tonight or tomorrow they will move him out of ICU, I believe all iv’s etc have been removed.

As a family it has been hard to see him like he was, we all comment that a lesser man may not have come through this. We have commented on the fact that his track and field have kept him strong, even the Dr’s say he is stronger than an ox. He has been up and walking quite a bit the Dr’s and nurses think he’s quite a character. When I was in to see him last, the nurse asked him if he wanted apple or grape juice……his response was…….he wanted to know what year the grapes were!! I will likely be going this Friday, we hope he comes home soon, but they may keep him just a little longer due to the problems he had.

I will let him know that you emailed, but I think he may rest this season. Doug, I honestly think he would not be here today if it wasn’t for the good shape he was in, Thank you for ONTARIO MASTERS and keep on tracking!!!

Sincerely

Pam Detenbeck
