New Canadian Masters Board Member

The CMA is pleased to announce that Carey Nelson from British Columbia has been appointed as the replacement to Diane Palmason on the CMA Board of Directors. The Board thanks Diane for her many years of service to the CMA, including her chairing of the Hall of Fame Committee for the past several years.

Carey’s resume includes:

  • Experienced CGA accountant – Controller, budgeting, financial reporting experience, sports accounting (Canadians Baseball)
  • Seminar speaker – Toastmaster
  • Experienced marathon and half marathon coach of runners aged 25 to 76 (coached over 500 to marathons and half marathons) – Forerunners
  • Non-profit experience with the Vancouver Marathon and Phoenix Gymnastics
  • Corporate Board of Director experience – General Fusion 2002 to 2005
  • Track and Field Athlete – 1977 to 1997, including 1988 and 1996 Olympics, 1987 and 1991 World Championships, 1990 and 1994 Commonwealth Games
  • Member, Athletics Canada Masters Committee
