Canadian Masters Athletics draws Canada’s best masters runners to compete in Canadian Masters 2014 5K Road Race Championship
on September 7 in Toronto

Toronto, ON — July 22, 2014 — Canadian Masters Athletics (CMA), the national body responsible for track & field, cross country running, road racing and race walking for masters aged athletes (35+), announced today that it is adding a masters championship component to the inaugural Canadian 5K Road Race Championship, hosted by Athletics Canada and the B&O Yorkville Run. The 5 kilometres event, announced in March of this year, will take place at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 7, 2014 in Toronto, Ont., and will be immediately followed by the fifth annual B&O Yorkville Run, a 5 kilometre community run that raises funds for local charities.

“The CMA is pleased to introduce the Canadian Masters 2014 5K Road Race Championship as an added feature to the Canadian 5K Road Race Championship,” said Paul Osland, President, Canadian Masters Athletics. “By joining this inaugural event, CMA will help create a true national championship, with fuller participation among masters age athletes.”
