Team Canada Comes Home With 47 Medals From Lyon

Close to 150 athletes joined Team Canada at the World Masters Athletics Championships in Lyon France from Aug 4th to 16th.

MJ WR

Marie-Josee Le Jour ON broke the World Record in the Throws Pentathlon. She also won Gold in the Discus, and Bronze in the Hammer and Weight Throw

Johanna Flipsen

Johanna Flipsen broke three CAN records in the 5000m Racewalk (Silver). 10,000mRW (Silver) and 20,000mRW (Gold) – and with the team awards won five medals

Karla del Grande ON won both the 100m and 200m

Christa Bortignon BC won six medals – Gold in the 80m and 200m Hurdles, Silver in the 100m and 200m, and Bronze in the Long Jump and Triple Jump

M80 Roger Davies AB won both the 5000m and 10,000m and Bronze in the 1500m

 Chris Deighan

Chris Deighan ON broke a 22 year old CAN record in the M55 Steeplechase – by 1:08 !

Khama Beckles

Khama Beckles ON broke the W40 CAN records in both the 100m and 200m – winning Bronze in the 100m

Helly Visser

W80 Helly Visser AB won the 5000m and took home the Silver in both the 800m and the 1500m
